sail away with those dreams.

My mom showed me this quote and I absolutely fell in love with it! It perfectly depicts the motto of this blog
“Twenty years from now you’ll be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.  So, throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbor.  Catch the trade winds in your sails.  Explore.  Dream.  Discover.”

We've definitely been doing a lot of things over on this end lately. Yesterday we went to false river for a fun filled day of kayaking, swimming, and visiting with my friend's family.
Then today we got lost on our way to tunica hills (actually named clark creek! how confusing) and hiked to all the different waterfalls. Quite deceivingly, Clark Creek is actually in Pond, MS; therefore, it's easy to understand why we got lost. You just can't make a trip to tunica (or should I say clark creek...) without getting lost. that's just part of the adventure.

p.s. I want to do a marathon this coming February (12 days before my 18th birthday to be exact) and I've been getting pumped up by watching youtube videos. Check this one out.

thoughts of a tired adventurer that make no sense. but that's life. HEY YA.

Hello.
this weekend was swell.
can you not tell
that this weekend went so well?

I ate some cake
and listened to an old lady sing
on a karaoke, just trying to live her dream

I never thought that I'd be this sore
after staying up too late the night before
a 6 mile run and a day of skiing
with a trip to walmart and pool volleyball,
it's just another day for this human being

slaloming was the highlight of the day
even though I can hardly walk, I'd have to say
that i love skiing like I love life
and i'm just happy to write. and. be. random.
what a loser.

staying up for almost 23 hours
and not even bothering to take a shower
kind of super delirious, tired, nasty, and gross
but that's life, we've got to make the most
of it.

seeing a friend come back from a mission
and living her life with a whole new vision
set the world ablaze
and sing to them all
tell them your story
stand proud. stand tall

well. this doesn't encompass the weekend very well
but then again, who could tell?
I am just writing and fighting
the urge
to
sleep.

God is good.

you Jamaican me happy, mon

Ayer, mis amigos y yo tuvimos una gran adventura. Two of these said amigos (keep in mind that they are of the male persuasion) bought legitimate hair dreading supplies and dreaded some of my other friends' hair. It was completely ridiculous but absolutely the most fun ever. You might be wondering why I didn't go for the Jamaican look. well, had I done that, I wouldn't have been able to walk in my house for fear of my mother's stern punishment. So I settled for giving colorful hair wraps to mis amigos similar to the one I'm sporting currently.
so no dreads.
but maybe. just maybe. someday.....

the supplies

life's an adventure, be spontaneous!

what will you do with your precious gift?

After talking with my mom about college (oh yeah, college... I have to apply to that) I've come to a few realizations. Aside from doing something awesome like living on a sailboat or a treehouse, or maybe inventing an ingenious new machine of sorts, I have absolutely no plan for my life. Yes dear readers, as of now, I have no idea where I'm going, no map pointing me in any certain direction, and absolutely no inkling of what I want to do with this precious blank canvas I've been given.
I hope I don't settle for mediocrity. I know God has BIG plans for this chick. I can't wait.

update from the ocean

The beach is going just swell minus a few storms here and there and a bit of sunburn. My brother caught a shark off the longest pier in the Gulf of Mexico!

hey, it's raining.

due to the tropical, cyclonic storm commonly referred to as Hurricane Alex, we are experiencing a bit of rain here. and Although we are not directly in the path of this mass of rain, wind, and power, we still are graced with the presence of some precipitation otherwise known as your favorite and mine... RAIN.

whether it be a blessing or a curse, well... that is up to you and I.
because life's what you make it.
so make it an adventure.

there's something so amazing about rain. it brings life. it unleashes yearnings of the soul in a heavenly manner, yet pulls you down to earth and puts everything in perspective. Kind of like the night sky, i love rain.
