Eclipse

so... I'm not a twilight fan. I've never read the books and I have never seen a single movie having to do with anything remotely close to twilight; however, yesterday my friends and I dressed up as the characters and hit the midnight premiere. We couldn't just sit on the sidelines and not play a part in the revolution  of the Twilight Saga.
Strange? maybe.
or strangely entertaining.
you decide, dear reader.
The cast from left to right: Bella, Edward Cullen, Jacob Black, and helpless victims who unfortunately crossed paths with them at an inopportune time.
Team Jacob or Team Edward?

Because we decided to do this on a whim, we got our tickets late; therefore, we were dispelled to a sketchy, rarely populated theater. The theater was packed, yet we were the only people who dressed up in the whole place! Good or bad, I'm still not sure...

I'm always up for a new adventure!

aw man.

ok so the 20 mile bike ride didn't work out... AGAIN. One of my friends had a tire blow out and we had to end it at 8 miles. but no worries, this feat will be accomplished one day.
and you, my dear readers, will know about it.

Hi! I'm kp

If you never say your name out loud for anyone, they can never ever call you by it.
and I've been quoting songs all day.

I can't change the past, but who cares? Love is all I've ever known.
I'll post the adventures of the day later...I am attempting the 20 mile bike ride (if this rain ever clears!)
"Are our matching sweaters obvious, or do they tell us more.
'cause lately it's been hard to miss this blatant metaphor."

yep.

So I'm pretty tired right now.
but it's that good tired feeling.
all this tiredness is due to an AWESOME day.
today we...
ran, kayaked, played frisbee, made pancakes, swam, jumped on a trampoline, went to church, and had a soccer game (which we won-- whoohoo)

Thank you Lord for this beautiful day!

today is a beautiful day!

As I was biking (no, I didn't do quite 20 miles, but I was out there!) I noticed the immense beauty that is today. it looks absolutely perfect for a summer kayak trip with a little picnic complete with a guitar jam session afterward. It reminded me of the numerous times I've strapped many kayaks in and on my SUV and driven to the lakes to have a fun filled day of kayaking with all my friends. That brought me back to an article Ed Cullen (Attic Salt column) wrote after observing my friends and I on a kayak excursion. We were so shocked when we saw this in the newspaper, and we knew right away it was about us.
Here's a little part of the column titled "Lake Traffic a Sign of Summer".

"The other afternoon at Baton Rouge Beach, there was a summer sight-- girls on a boating outing. The girls, who were high school age, piled out of an SUV as though they'd just driven hundreds of miles to a favorite river instead of from a nearby neighborhood. The girls worked well together, suggesting they'd learned to work together on school projects. They quickly unloaded inflatable boats and a kayak. They enjoyed each other's company immensely as they worked through the choreography of youthful exuberance that one day might be applied to architecture, medicine or the law but for the moment was being lavished on getting rubber boats into University Lake. It was easy to imagine this scene being repeated on the banks of a white water river. What would the girls do once they launched their bouncy craft? Would they practice orchestrated rowing to make their boats move in a straight line before experimenting with turning? Would they strike out for the stretch of interstate that crosses City Park Lake to work on endurance? The girls paddled out a scarce 100 yards from the beach and began to drift until all the boats had come together. Then, the boaters resumed the animated conversation they'd interrupted to launch their boats. The young women looked fit. They didn't need the workout. Someone had gotten the idea of taking all available boats to BR beach as platforms for an afternoon of celebrating the end of school and being together-- young in a young summer"

Just call my name, and I'll be there.

Ladies and gentlemen,
I happily announce that I have made an official bucket list. (A list of things to do before you hit the bucket)
as I attempt these feats, you, my dear readers, will certainly be updated on the status of this said bucket list.
today's attempt: bike 20 miles.
I might only get to 10. but hey, you never know until you try!

happy friday to all!
Sister and I flying in the clouds, accomplishing all dreams and aspirations.
(just kidding-- this is us on top of a volcano in maui!)

Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?

Last night, I saw the most incredible thing.
I was just sitting around when all of a sudden a large shooting star just FELL from the sky!
it looked like an offspring of the moon shooting out of a cannon and sprinkling fairy dust in a blazing trail of fire crackers behind it. I was speechless.

I could really use a wish right now.

let the notes float out into the world like a calm river in a thunderstorm

I'm compiling a list of my favorite artists/songs so that I can tell people what kind of music I like when they ask. I've realized lately that I don't have an answer to that question.
I love guitar
and teaching it to others.

My thoughts need some organization.

I have so many things floating around in my head that I want to do in life.
I hope I don't forget to do them all.

This is a picture of my dad at his snoball stand that he opened when he was in the 7th grade. I want to do cool things like that. Way to go Daddy-o.

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

pictures of our awesome vacation to come soon. maybe.
I LOVE SUMMER. It is by far, the best time of year.

Some of my friends a few years back told me that they were bored during summer... so I compiled this list of things to do in the summer. HAPPY SUMMER TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!

you can have a jam session with all the friends/instruments you can find, you can go starwatching, you can look at the clouds, you can make lemonade, you can go to the store and buy cookies, you can make a card for someone just because you want to, organize your closet, tell someone that you just love them so much, you can roll down a hill in a wagon while your brother is pushing you, you can go running, you can climb a tree, you can have a mud fight, you can go to see a movie, you can say a prayer for random people that you see when you are riding in the car just in case they are having a bad day, you can go to a restaurant and order strange things that you have never tried and talk in a funny accent, you can quack everytime you meet a new person, you can bake cookies, you can go swimming, you can make a to do list, you can go to LASM, you can rub candle wax under a cardboard box and ride down a hill on it, you can get in a laundry basket and ride down the stairs, you can dance in the rain, you can walk a dog or a cat… or a fish?? Maybe, you can go to the adoration chapel, you can run through sprinklers, you can play a board game, you can make paper airplanes, you can wake up early just to make pancakes for your family, you can read a book (summer reading is looking good!), you can go slip and sliding, you can sleep, you can invite someone over to do all this fun stuff with.
